South Korean singer Jessie resigned from the agency due to accusations of insulting fans

South Korean singer Jessie has resigned from her agency, DOD, after a CCTV video surfaced of her allegedly assaulting a fan.

“We would like to apologize once again for the concerns caused by recent events. After careful consideration and discussion regarding her future activities, we have mutually agreed to terminate her contract effective October 18 at Jessie’s request,” the agency said on Friday (October 18).

The incident happened on September 29 at a bar when an 18-year-old fan of Jessie asked to take a photo with Jessie, but Jessie refused the request due to other issues. As a result of this incident, the police questioned for several hours whether the man who committed the physical assault was related to Jessie. Jesse denied knowing the man. Therefore, it is not yet known exactly who the perpetrator was.

In 2013, Jesse was reported to the police for beating a woman at a club in downtown Seoul.
